Triumph 2000/2500 range prices up by 35-50%
Following on from the Austin-healey story above, MKI Triumph 2000s are also enjoying something of a renaissance. To be fair, the whole 2000/2500 range is on the up, driven partly by their usefulness for the popular series of endurance road rallies run by Club Triumph – they provide a decent amount of performance with comfort and plenty of space for extra crew members on those overnighters.
Prices across the range are up 35-50% on a year ago, not least because surviving numbers of good examples are not that high. So it only takes a moderate rise in demand to significantly move prices. Yet with values still way below renovation costs, there’s still room for growth. Brightwells recently achieved an above-book £6832 for a very nice 1965 MKI, and we’re seeing others offered privately in that range. Dealers are starting to apply five-figure price tags, though that might be gun-jumping. Either way, the clues are there – this is one of those rising stars you should probably look at buying sooner rather than later.
