Flipping outrageous

-

Oh dear – ‘pot’ and ‘kettle’ springs to mind (Quentin Willson, The Insiders, July 2017). Flipping, making a buck, turn, trading, banking a profit – this is what the car trade does. I don’t see how you can have a go at amateurs cashing in on the bonkers classic car market, especially if they are risking tens or hundreds of pounds.

In every issue Quentin writes about the rising stars and how to spot a trend. Well, you reap what you sow. It’s a function of the times, which have seen the classic car market overprice itself. Like all markets it’ll sort itself out, investors will get bored and prices will dip. For every chancer who makes a buck there’s an investor who fed him. Just don’t get caught holding the parcel.
