An unrepeatable pair of Mercedes 300 SLS and a rare Peugeot 404

-

An uncommonly well-preserved Aston Martin DB6 garage-find sold for a colossal £249,700 – that’s £30k over top estimate – on June 6th at H&H’S Woodcote Park sale. A 1966 Series 1 Vantage with its original engine and registration number, it hasn’t been used since 1991 – but the intervening 26 years in dry storage must have been kind because the car still presents as well as many on the road.

At the same sale a 1962 Jaguar E-type fhc that had been in the same ownership since 1976 and off the road since the mid-eighties (estimate £50k-60k) sold for £63k – not wildly high for a matching-numbers car, especially since it was far from the rustiest Series 1 offered for sale this year.
