Owning a Maserati Quattroporte V
Robert Jones is new to Maserati ownership but he’s loving every minute. ‘The Quattroporte is the only way I could own a Ferrari engined car for the right price! Cars are designed to be driven and mine has done 106,000 miles. I use the Maserati every day and I’ve not had a serious problem so far. The tyre pressure and parking brake sensors can come on if it’s left standing but both clear when you run the engine.’
‘The Quattroporte was serviced and had its tyres replaced before I bought it. They’re Pirelli P-zeros and cost around £1000 for a set, though Maserati Club UK (maseraticlub.co.uk) currently has a special offer to reduce the price. ‘My local specialist quotes around £500 for a basic service and oil change, which is recommended every 6000 miles. A major service can be nearer to £2000. I get around 20mpg in normal use and I’ve seen 26mpg.’
