ASK QUENTIN
What, no FF?
I was dismayed not to find mention of the Jensen Interceptor or even the FF in the CC Investment Guide 2021. Agreed the Interceptor was a slow starter but values have really gone up for quality cars and it’s a prime candidate for growth. I have an exprincess Anne SP in excellent condition.
Kenny Brown
Fear not. I’m a great
Interceptor fan and have owned several over the years and loved them very much. We didn’t include the Interceptor or FF in this year’s guide because we think, at the moment, they’ve peaked in value. Prices are beginning to soften here in the UK (not so much FFS) and you can now buy a really good Interceptor for £50k – sometimes less. We’re going to keep a watching brief on values and if we think they’re due a renaissance, we’ll let everybody know. Quentin Willson
The future for my Renaultsport Clio
I own a 2012 Renaultsport Clio. It’s immaculate and has only covered 23,000 miles, with full service history, but the tax is expensive and I’m frightened to park it anywhere in case it gets damaged or vandalised. Do you think it’ll ever become a future classic?
Andrew Carman
Your Clio is already a neo-classic. Over the last couple of years we’ve seen values of performance moderns like yours rise in value and desirability. Selling it now with such a low mileage and full history means you’ll be selling something very hot at the peak of the market. I’d get it advertised now before things slow down in the last quarter of the year. Quentin Willson
What price for my Hyundai?
Please can you give me an estimate of what I should sell our Hyundai Coupé 2.0 SE for with just 17k miles, in exceptional condition. We bought it in 2005 at 2671 miles; it’s been off the road since September 2020.
Mike Lane
Your Hyundai must be one of the lowest mileage examples in the country. It’s also in best-selling silver with just two owners. I’d value this at £5000£7000 on the basis that you could spend years looking and never find such a perfect, unmolested example. Quentin Willson
