A tribute ride

The pre ’65 scene was saddened to learn of Dave Emmott passing away earlier in April and he will be missed by his many friends in the trials world. Dave was no stranger to the fells of Kinlochleven and had ridden the pre ’65 Scottish many times on a superbly fettled Triumph twin. He was generally accompanied by eldest son George, also Triumph twin mounted and the pair were normally well up the finishers’ list. As a tribute to his father, George rode Dave’s Triumph in the 2017 event, an emotional occasion for him but he did it, rode it well and finished 63rd, losing 42 marks over the two days.
