Dirt Talk
What’re you talking about in the CDB world? All sorts of things as it happens, bring it on we say.
I’ve bought your speedway magazine, it’s excellent, something nice to keep on the coffee table. I’m really into this stuff as I have a few classic speedway and grasstrack bikes about the place. The article covering the Bsa/greeves prototype was interesting as I happen to know a little more about the Greeves. Once finished as a test the frame and wheels went to Sweden with Bengt Janson, while the rest – engine, countershaft etc – is owned by a friend of mine as he bought all Don Smith’s speedway stuff.
Regarding the BSA, there is a lot more info on this in Frank Melling’s book A Penguin in a Sparrow's Nest. I also know a racer called Alan Graham used the BSA in second half racers at Birmingham before he broke into the team.

Thanks Phil, I was pretty much in the dark with speedway and didn’t know how much I didn’t know – if that makes sense – before starting to write it. However, the more I got into it the more fascinating it got. Tim
