Who was SWM?

SWM was founded in 1971 byy Pietro Sironi and Fausto Vergani at Vimercate Milan, in order to get the initials ‘SWM’ initials from the two surnames and location were used. This actually give S V V M but on the logo the letters were closer and SVVM became SWM. The company built trials, MX and enduro machines, gained many championships and major event wins before closing in 1984. There has been a recent resurgence of the name and once again the Italian machines are being marketed.
