Classic Motorcycle Mechanics

Try a classic with the NMM!

-

We’re big fans of what’s going on at the National Motorcycle Museum at the moment and their Friends Scheme is giving its members the chance to take part in some unique activities that just wouldn’t be possible otherwise. Some of this unique content includes Classic Bike Tours, Ride a Classic Days and Workshop Training Days. The weekend of April 1-2 sees the first ‘Try a Classic Bike’ weekend. Friends Scheme members will get the chance to ride various motorcycles from the museum’s inventory on closed roads within the museum grounds. Machines will include a selection of veteran and vintage machines with lever throttle/hand change – training will be provided – as well as later machines from the 1940s to 1960s including Brough and Vincent. There will be a choice of either morning or afternoon sessions with a nominal fee of just £10 for friends of the museum making this cost substantially less than other similar opportunities. On Saturday, March 25, NMM Friends can enjoy a Classic Bike Tour around the beautiful Warwickshire countryside. Those taking part will receive an induction and off-road training before being escorted on the tour by expert advanced motorcycle instructors. The machinery on offer varies from a BSA C15 to a Brough Superior SS100! Each class of machine attracts a different hire fee which includes insurance costs and lunch in the museum restaurant. Exciting stuff eh? To become an NMM Friend head to www.thenmm.co.uk for more details.
