Sons of the Desert: Peterhansel and XTZ.
Along with pure-race motorcycles designed for the ultimate performance on Tarmac, there’s something so brutally single-minded about pukka desert race machines. This is the YZE750T, Yamaha’s racing version of its Super Ténéré at the 1991 Rallye Des Pharaons, being ridden by the legendary Stephane Peterhansel. The bike in 750 and 850cc versions is the most successful bike in the history of the Dakar Rally, taking wins in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998. Six of these victories were with Peterhansel in the saddle.
