Tuono turns 15 (again!)

- Anth

I saw the letter from Jon Law in your last edition of this magazine about the Tuono turning 15. I agree with Jon it would be a great idea to do an article about the 2002 Tuono as many people don’t even know it exists, I’ve even had someone from an Aprilia dealership ask if I painted it myself! I’m sure it would be possible to get some owners together as there are three on the Tuonoworld.com forum that are regularly used and over on the American apriliaforum.com website there is a register of all known Tuono R Limited owners worldwide. I’ve attached a photo of the Tuono in the Picos de Europa, Spain, proving that the rain doesn’t always fall mainly on the plain! As a little side note I’ve owned three Tuonos since 2004, been everywhere from Nordkapp in Northern Norway to the southern tip of Spain on them and never had any hint of trouble. Recently on a trip to the Alps there were six of us, two on Tuonos, the rest on modern bikes, two BMWS, one Kawasaki and a Triumph: only the two Tuonos ran faultlessly: most reliable ‘classic’ ever?
