Hard to find parts:

UK spec headlamps with all mounting lugs intact Mph speedos, desired by parallel import owners Exhaust headers: originals are rot-boxes, aftermarke­t systems may require carb fettling Carbs from running bikes are hard to find Bodywork is made harder to find by needing the correct colour for your bike

Can’t give ‘em away parts:

CDI box, modern electrics Rear pegs and hangers (they never get damaged) The air-box Front (16in) wheels: most long-term owners fit a 17in VFR/CBR600 wheel, leading to lots of 16in front wheels on the market

What to pay:

Engines are cheap and don’t go wrong. £300 gets you a good one Forks with excellent stanchions are making good money: £200 for a lovely set 17in front wheels are still a popular mod, it allows you to fit a wider choice of tyres. £150-ish for a wheel with excellent paint.
