JOIN US ON CMM TRACK DAYS

-

CMM has joined forces with Classic Bike Track Days to offer readers the chance of taking their modern classic on two legendary UK circuits in 2019. The dates you need to put in your diary are Sunday June 30 – where CMM’S special day will be the day after the Classic Suzuki Track Day & Show at Cadwell ,,Park, Lincolnshire – and Friday July 19 before the VJMC Track Day & Show at Castle Combe, Wiltshire. With our CMM events before or after the Suzuki and VJMC days, why not make a weekend of it? The brilliant news is that, for 2019, CBT has raised the year limit of ‘classic’ bikes allowed on track from 1995 through to 2000… so dust off that GSX-R750Y and prepare for fun! “The CMM day on the Sunday follows on from the Classic Suzuki event, which was a crazy success last year and rammed with spectators, so we’re expecting this year to be considerably busier as it’s on a Saturday,” says Darin Frow from CBT. “We’re hoping the Suzuki clubs will be able to attend this year too, stay over for the Sunday and make a weekend of it, plus all the other clubs will be welcome too, but will be allocated space outside the main paddock. Camping is also free on Friday and Saturday night for everyone!” The Sunday action will offer six track sessions for all riders between 9am-5pm, and a classic-bike-friendly noise limit of 105DBA static. Groups will be allocated by rider ability or size of bike. Professional tuition will be available to everyone, and each day will offer full tyre support from Continental and an on-site mechanic courtesy of the lovely Griff Wooley from Aprilia Performance. The lunch break will offer clubs and spectators the opportunity to ride the full circuit for a three-lap parade (speed controlled) and we’ll be asking for £10 charity donation per rider. They will have to be properly attired, although armoured Gore-tex will be allowed for this parade. Castle Combe on Friday, July 19 will follow the same format for the track sessions and parade events. (Although the noise test is still 105DBA, it’s measured at 3/4 revs). With our own Andy Bolas in attendance with the VJMC, it’s going to be a hoot! AND we will be offering prizes for the best bikes. Head to www. classic bike track days. com/ to book! We will have more on the event in the next issue.
