WIN S-DOC chain cleaner! Win Tamiya kit for ‘The Way We Were!’

I thought you’d like these two! The Triumph I’ve owned since July 2009 and it started out as a Daytona 955i. After a while I found the riding position very uncomfortable so I decided to convert the bike to Speed Triple spec. I de-faired the bike, removing all surplus parts such as brackets and fasteners, then removed and replaced other parts such as LSL bars, LSL two-way adjustable billet titanium rear sets, stainless HEL hoses, billet bar end mirrors, Simmi stainless pipe, 45 tooth rear sprocket, Beowulf stainless radiator and oil cooler guards. The seat was re-upholstered in suede.

Wicked Coatings in Holton Heath, Dorset, worked their magic with the bodywork, as this was hydro dipped to look like carbon fibre and has fooled many into thinking that it actually is real carbon fibre. A rear rim from a 2009 Speed Triple 1050 was fitted. This went straight on to the existing hub assembly. A TOR carbon fibre high-level silencer was fitted, along with a K&N airfilter to improve performance.

The Suzuki T250J I purchased from a friend of mine who subjected the bike to an extensive nut and bolt restoration. The bike is a UK model, which was purchased from Crooks in Cumbria on the January 3, 1973. I even have a copy of the sales ledger, which Martin Crook kindly managed to source for me.

Since I was 16 I’ve owned a few bikes, including a Garelli moped, a GP125, then on to an X7,RG250, CR250 Red Rocket, RG500 and GSX-R1100L.
