SPADA PEACEDOG JACKET

-

Last Spring, I managed to fulfil a boyhood dream – to own a Harley Davidson, notably a 2013 883N Sportster.

I wanted a leather jacket that fitted in with the urban street cruiser sportster style that was comfortable to ride in and to wear whilst walking around shows and auto jumbles without being too hot. The Spada Peacedog fitted the bill, as I didn’t want to spend a fortune on official Harley clothing. The Peacedog leather jacket is made from tumbled sheep hide for a softer fit and has a distressed look that gives it age and the look I wanted. It has a fleece double-lined hood, which is zipped in and removable with a front scarf, which was ideal in colder seasons. It comes with CE four-piece armour for elbows and shoulders, and also a foam back protector that can be upgraded. The armour sits comfortably in the right places and I particularly like the padded quilting to the shoulders and upper arms, giving it a stylish look.

The lining is quilted tartan and the membrane is said to be waterproof, but I have yet to ride in the rain – too much cleaning and chrome to polish!

The jacket does make you hot in high summer (it doesn’t have airflow vents, but I feel this would spoil its style), instead I just unzip it a bit.

Conversely, it is very warm in colder weather and the high-level neck lining keeps the breeze when you are clipping along. It has plenty of pockets.

Overall it’s super comfy to wear, is good on and off the bike, and is a high-quality jacket that is a great product for the money.
