Michael Yeo says: “Here are a couple of pics; the second one is my brother wheelying my FS1-E, with the RD400 in the background. Back in late September 1980 I was preparing to take my Yamaha FS1-E DX in ‘Roberts Yellow’ (TTT538R) on to the wonderful public road legally. Nervous as hell, but equally excited, I had done my RAC ACU Bronze in Osborne Car Park, Newton Abbot, Devon. At the stroke of midnight I rode to Torquay and back with my brother following on his Yamaha RD400 (RUO811S). I rode between the white line and the kerb like a cyclist, scared the hell out of my brother and unbeknownst to me, my brother kicked the wing of a taxi that was going to hit me. Despite all this, I was hooked and I’ve never stopped loving bikes. This is why I am so pleased that a year ago I picked up my first bike since 1989 and the first new bike I have ever owned. Keep safe everybody and love all the pictures, they are like time machines, taking me back to great times in my life!”

Christopher White says: “A few months ago you printed a letter of mine concerning my RD400 that I'd painted in Marlboro colours, and you rightfully chastised me for not including a photo, so I’ve sent this in. The year is some time around 1984/85 and just prior to me re-painting, changing exhausts and 'tuning' it. I owned the CB550 in 1986, but hated it, everything went wrong with it; it was the worst bike I've ever owned. I loved the GS750 though, and had it for over 12 years. The Kwak GT750 I had in about 2000.”

Trevor Garrard says: “I’ve attached the picture of me in 1977 (resplendent in my full Belstaff jacket and leggings – cheap back then) having just moved up to my brand new Honda XL125 from my Honda SS50 moped. The second photo is of my same XL, a short time later, fitted with its new front and rear Preston Petty’s and a Sammy Miller exhaust. Behind it are my buddy’s bikes (Suzuki TS250M, Suzuki TS185, Honda TL125 and Yamaha DT175) all ready for a bit of grass tracking around a friend’s field, where we spent many happy and noisy hours. Halcyon days!”
