Don’t sweat it!

-

Hello from The Engineering Shed! I’ve just finished the latest mag which yet again does not disappoint... especially at the moment. I felt I needed to spring to your defence after recent comments on content. So, going back a bit, the features on ‘Better Riding’ came in for quite a bit of flak, which I think was somewhat unjustified. The link between the two authors and their insurance business I don’t think was particularly well handled but based on some of the riding I have seen recently there is no denying the relevance of the content! I’m sure the majority of your readers, me included, are from an era when there was no compulsory training and a bike test comprised two laps of the local test centre. Okay, the fact that we are still here and not six feet under shows we got most of it right, but anyone who thinks they know it all is a danger to themselves and others. You’re never too old to learn, as the saying goes.

Secondly, I enjoyed the article on acronyms very much and although I knew mostly what they stood for, did not know how all the technology functioned so that was an interesting read and well explained. I can see you are trying to mix it up and do a few new things, and are to be commended for it. Don’t be put off by the odd moan.

Bertie says: “Craig – thank you for this! To be fair, the authors did something for us for nowt, so – of course – we’re going to mention their business. We’ve done the same with the last two main road tests – courtesy of Bridgestone tyres. This is the sad reality of post-covid (and maybe Brexit) times where we have to be so very careful financially and work with our friends to get the features we think you will enjoy.”

?? Craig Taylor ?? Better riding: good!
It’s nice to read something a bit different to the endless articles on small two-stroke twins! Oops, sorry Scoop – we love you really! So, hang in there. You can’t please all of the people all of the time!
