The chassis

Kim Newcombe designed and built the large diameter steel spine frame, with a 1430mm wheelbase.the chassis incorporates a pair of side rails and two front supports connected to the front of the engine.the two front engine supports have 50mm plates welded to the bottom to attach the motor by a single 8mm bolt above each front cylinder, and, with exhaust pipe holes cut into them, they are used as part of the exhaust outlet system, with the pipes fitted after the steel plates. Konig is thought to have produced eight bikes which were sold as a kit, without forks and wheels, and possibly six whole race bikes.the majority were 680cc machines for the 750 class, mostly sold with Solex carburettors. Tingate says: “As far as I know Kim designed the whole bike. He would have had help from other people, he would have out sourced the fibreglass after he’d made up the mould. Most of the bikes had been made already by 1973 when I got there. I went back with him several times to Berlin and I made some bits up myself.”
