DO YOU THINK YOU DID THE RIGHT THING IN PACKING UP MOTORCYCLE ROAD RACING WHEN YOU DID?
“In hindsight, no. MV was slow in developing its bikes and it was a battle to get them to improve things.years after I retired I rode one of the later fours and that was a super bike, completely different. I had no idea that the Japanese factories were just about to turn road-racing upside down. When Mike Hailwood was having problems with the 500cc Honda four he sought my opinion.there were some basic things wrong with it, but nothing that could not be sorted out.”
