Tytan

Justice Served HIGH ROLLER

- Dave ling

And Justice… for all.

Formed by man‑mountain bassist Kevin Riddles in 1981 after his exit from Angel Witch (along with that band’s drummer, Dave Dufort), Tytan perhaps ended up more notable for the volume and pedigree of their musicians than for their music. Past or future members of AC/DC, Judas Priest, Lion, Lionheart,

A II Z and many more surrounded Riddles before the band broke up two years later.

This is something of a travesty as Rough Justice, issued posthumously, was a tuneful collection that straddled the gap between melodic hard rock and heavy metal. Now, 36 years on, this follow‑up introduces an all‑new line‑up. Alas, that means no Kal Swan on vocals, though Tom Barna is a handy successor.

Justice Served repeats the formula of the debut – meaty melodies despatched with steely slickness – and although certain selections don’t appear quite as instant first time around, they grow with repeated spins.
