MAX BELL

A cockney Leeds fan who grew up with The Beatles but is an American music fanatic, Max has been hanging round musicians and asking them cheeky questions since, cough, 1974. This issue he talked to Mott The Hoople (p54). Max is currently consulting and writing for a Grateful Dead In Egypt exhibition at the Haight Street Art Centre in San Francisco.

Designer/illustrator Tavis Coburn is the mastermind behind this month’s brilliant cover illustration.
