The last surviving player on jazz legend Miles Davis’s seminal 1959 album Kind Of Blue (which he had been for nearly 30 years), drummer Jimmy Cobb has died. He was born in Washington DC, and played with jazz greats Billie Holiday, Pearl Bailey and Dizzy Gillespie before joining Davis. The 91-year-old Cobb succumbed to lung cancer at his home in Manhattan.
