Raised in Philadelphia as Eli Murray, when he was 17 he boarded a Greyhound bus and headed to Chicago. After gigging alongside blues greats Albert Collins, Albert King and John Lee Hooker, in 1985 Elisha headed to London to start a new start in the UK, and played acoustic guitar on a Virgin Airlines London-bound flight in exchange for his ticket. After struggling with failing health, his colourful life was cut short by Covid-19.
