Spain celebrates its own
More than 250 exhibitors and 500 vehicles drew 48,000 visitors to the Montjuïc exhibition centre from 16-19 November for the 34th Autoretro Barcelona. Among the special displays inside the Fira de Barcelona was a tribute to the 24 Hours of Montjuïc, with no fewer than 30 drivers (11 of them former winners) on hand to relive their experiences.
Catalan coachbuilder Pedro Serra was celebrated with a set of cars including the prototype Dodge Boulevard, a Pegaso Z-102 cabrio, Citroën Dyane coupé, Autonacional 200F and three Seat 1400s. There were also four Seat 600s to mark the end of the model’s year-long 60th-birthday party, along with a gathering outside of 150 cars from Club 600.
Additional interest this year came from interactive displays, including a series of classic parades through the old town, and ‘live’ exhibits such as Valentín Motors’ reassembly of a 1988 Porsche 911 930/66 turbo flat-six.
