A fas­ci­nat­ing Para­mount tourer was the cen­tre of at­ten­tion dur­ing the Clas­sic Ve­hi­cles Day at Dere­ham Sta­tion on the Mid Nor­folk Rail­way on 15 Oc­to­ber. Founded by for­mer RAF men WA Hud­son and S Un­der­wood, the firm built an es­ti­mated 72 cars from 1950-’56.

Pauline and Lloyd Smith bought their 1½-litre late model about five years ago. It fea­tures a tubu­lar steel chas­sis, with alu­minium body­work over an ash frame and is pow­ered by a 1508cc Ford Con­sul en­gine, with a three-speed man­ual gear­box.

“We’ve re­cently re­turned from a trip to Brus­sels,” en­thused Lloyd. “It cruises hap­pily at 50-60mph.”
