March battle for finale

-

Peter Auto held its final meeting of 2017 at Paul Ricard on 21-22 October. Le Mans winners Emanuele Pirro and Derek Bell were on hand for the Dix Mille Tours de Castellet, which included seven grids.

Martin Stretton (March 742) and Matthew Watts (March 772) finished only three-tenths apart in the first F2 encounter, with Stretton taking the win. Watts made amends by pipping Philippe Scemama (March 752) in the second stanza. Kriton Lendoudis (Mercedes C11) claimed a double in the Group C races, while Peter Muelder did likewise in Trofeo Nastro Rosso aboard his Bizzarrini 5300GT. Christian Dumolin and Christophe van Riet’s 289 Cobra was the class of the Sixties Endurance field, taking a comfortable victory ahead of Alain Ruede’s 427, and Christian Traber (BMW CSL) had the measure of David Tomlin’s Escort in the Heritage Touring Cup.

Peter Auto has now confirmed its dates for 2018, including the biennial Le Mans Classic from 6-8 July. For the full list, see www.peterauto.peter.fr
