Historics head to the forests
A number of classics took part in the National section of this year’s Wales Rally GB, from 27-29 October. Shawn Rayner and Declan Dear (Escort Mk2) won Class H3 courtesy of being its only entrants, while in H1 Rikki Proffitt/david Alcock (Datsun 240Z) held off the Mexico of Tony Ginns/ben Giles.
Class H2, meanwhile, hosted an unlikely duel between the winning Volvo Amazon of Ken Davies/alan Jones and the Brian Ferreday/ Jordan Joines VW Beetle.
Mark and Louise Goodwin ran their Vauxhall Chevette in Class B3, which was dominated by Escort Mk2s. John Rowlands and Glenn Latham topped the strong entry.
