OCTOBER’S WINNER

A small but high-quality entry for this shot of a 1949 Le Mans class-winner – which is, of course, the Czechoslovakian Aero Minor Sport 750. Karl Ludvigsen, Geert Watteeuw, Jan Benink and Jeremy Risdon were all able to identify the front-wheeldrive racer, which finished 15th overall that year and placed second for the Index of Performance. Our winner this month is David Alderson, who was also able to tell us that the car’s 1950 crew – Gatsonides and Hoogeveen – nicknamed their tiny twostroke steed ‘Smoky Jasper’!
