Rusty treasure at ACA

-

Some appealing projects crossed the block at ACA’S 4 November sale, many coming from a Norfolk collection that had been consigned following the loss of the owner’s storage facilities. Gems included several unrestored sports cars that had been reimported from the US, among them an XK120 that sold for £17k in spite of having no papers, as well as a ’59 Austin-healey 100/6 and a 1957 MGA that went for £8610 and £5460 respectively.

An MGA fixed-head went for an affordable £4250, while a 1934 Morris 10/6 Cunard special that had been in the same family since 1980 raised £7560. The latter was fitted with a Jaguar engine, but a Morris unit came with the car. Other projects included a 1938 Humber Sixteen that had been discovered in a disused public convenience. It had survived well and made £5880.
