KERRY: ‘I wish George would open up to me’
It’s only been seven months since they decided to give their turbulent twoyear marriage another go – but already trouble could be on the horizon for Kerry Katona and George Kay.
Insiders reveal that Kerry, 36, is concerned about ex-con George increasingly spending time away from home.
The former rugby player, 36, spent the start of the year minding Kerry’s five children while she toured Australia with Atomic Kitten and, before that, she starred in panto in Lincoln. And as Closer previously reported, pals were concerned about the pressure on George to run the house in her absence.
A source reveals: “Kerry puts on a brave face but she’s worried George hasn’t been acting himself recently. She understands it’s full-on with all the kids so she doesn’t blame him for wanting time to himself. But he’s away from the house for hours at a time. She wishes he’d open up to her more.”
In August 2014, George was detained under the Mental Health Act after suffering a terrifying street meltdown. The couple split in October 2015 after George was accused of beating up Kerry in their home. He was cleared in July last year after the singer withdrew her statement against him.
Now pals say Kerry really wants her third marriage to work and is planning a night out with friend Michelle Heaton, 37, to let her hair down. The source explains: “She had a great time on tour with Michelle and wants a night out on the lash because she wants to forget all her worries for a bit.”
