‘We need to give the new line-up a chance’
ANDREW SMYTH, RUNNER-UP OF GREAT BRITISH BAKE OFF 2016, THINKS THE NEW LINE-UP WILL BE GREAT: “Noel Fielding is certainly an unexpected choice. Who knows what Sandi and Noel will be like as a double act, but they’re both hilarious. The tent can be a really stressful place so it will be great for this year’s contestants to be surrounded by humour. It was going to be hard for anyone taking over, as hosts as Mel and Sue are a difficult act to follow, but there’s no point writing them off before they’ve even begun. And there’s no doubt Prue knows her stuff. She’s a legend in her own right and a worthy replacement of Mary. It’ll be interesting to see if she’s easier to please than Paul as he’s notoriously difficult. Everyone is eager to say the new line-up is going to be a disaster, but we need to give them a chance. It’s going to give it a bit of a C4 flavour. It’s exciting!”
