Charlie: ‘Gemma needs a man who is firm with her’
Former TOWIE hunk Charlie King is making his big Essex comeback this month – and after briefly dating Gemma Collins in 2013, the 31-yearold personal trainer has revealed he’s happy to help her find love on the show.
After Charlie and Gemma’s short-lived fling, Charlie came out a year later on This Morning. But the former lovers are still on good terms, and he confesses to Closer: “If I wasn’t gay, Gemma would be my ideal woman. I’m working hard on helping her find someone; I want her to be happy. Gemma needs someone who is firm with her and can tell her ‘no’ – she can be quite a force!”
Charlie quit the show after his pal and co-star Bobby Norris told him he had feelings for him, but Charlie hadn’t yet come to terms with his sexuality.
Charlie reveals: “Meeting up with Bobby wasn’t easy – we’re now clearing the air.”
But it seems things are on the up this year – as well as his TOWIE return, Charlie is helping to train singer Mel B and flies regularly to LA to work with her.
