‘Mum’s transformed herself – she has a new lease of life’

She’s lost a staggering 121/2st over the past six years, slimming down from a size 28 to a size 6, but actress Tina Malone has spoken out about being taunted for her extreme weight loss.

Last month, the 54-year-old former Shameless star admitted she was left “devastated” when online trolls mocked her “saggy skin” after losing so much weight. But it’s her eldest daughter, 35-year-old Danielle, who continually boosts her self-esteem. Danielle tells Closer: “Mum’s done so well – I think she looks amazing. In the past, when she was bigger, she would always cover herself up, but she’s got a new lease of life.”

After Danielle gave birth to Dorothy last year, Tina – who is also mum to three-year-old Flame with her toyboy husband Paul Chase, 35 – admits becoming a grandmother has brought her family even closer together. She says: “I love having children in the house – I’m a fun nan!”
