Vogue: “It was a relief when my marriage ended”
Vogue Williams opens up about loving the single life since splitting from Brian Mcfadden
eartache isn’t something H Vogue Williams wastes any time on. Despite the upset and upheaval of her three-year marriage to former Westlife star Brian Mcfadden ending in July 2015, the Irish model is focusing on the positive.
Vogue, 31, tells Closer: “When you break up with someone, I don’t think that’s the toughest part. The hard part is the lead-up to the split. After that, it’s just the end. It was almost a relief when my marriage ended. I didn’t have that hard part at the very end.”
HAPPILY SINGLE
She adds: “I was like: ‘I want more for myself now. I’m happy and have emotional balance.’ I didn’t sit at home moping last year, I was seeing someone for a consistent amount of time. I’ve had a nice time.”
The model and TV presenter was recently linked to Made In Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews, 27, after they both competed on The Jump. Despite persistent claims they were an item, and being outed by their co-star Mark Dolan, Vogue denied the rumours. However, last week, she hinted at a possible flirtation with Spencer when asked about the romance claims. She said: “Maybe a little truth in the matter. We were really close friends, we’re just really close... and yeah we’ve been getting on really well.”
She tells Closer: “I’m good friends with Spencer – there were always going to be rumours, but we’re not going out. He’s not my boyfriend. I’m happily single. I’m trying to stay away from relationships for now.”
It’s not the first time she’s been linked to a co-star. In November, Vogue was reported to be dating Laurence Fox, 38 – who split from wife Billie Piper last March – after they met on Bear Grylls: Mission Survive. In a recent interview, Laurence recently revealed he and Vogue are now “just great friends.”
DATING ENGLISH MEN
While Vogue is happy being single, she knows what sort of man she’d go for. She reveals: “I’d like to date an English guy. I live in England now and I’ve met lots of nice Englishmen. I think English and Irish people are very similar – we have the same sense of humour. I find English people really easy going.”
There’s one thing Vogue will be steering clear of, though. She laughs: “Dating can be fun, but I wouldn’t do Tinder. I meet a lot of people in my line of work!”
