Stephanie Davis’ promising reunion with ex Jeremy Mcconnell was shattered last week after police arrested the Irish model over an alleged assault
They appeared to be putting their volatile past behind them for the sake of their newborn son Caben-albi but, last week, the truce between Stephanie Davis and Jeremy Mcconnell came to a shocking end.
A month after they reunited, just days after Steph stood by Jeremy’s side at his father’s funeral, the pair reportedly became locked in a series of “furious” rows with neighbours near Steph’s home after it was claimed arguments between them had spilled into the street.
Following reports of their arguing, it was later claimed that Jeremy – who denies any wrongdoing – allegedly caused more than £5,000 worth of damage to 24-year-old Steph’s house. Steph was said to be “shaken and distressed” after reporting him to the authorities.
HEAVILY BRUISED
Police revealed in a statement that Jeremy, 27, is being investigated on suspicion of assault and smashing up a house. He was arrested last week, with police stating: “Following a report of an assault at an address in (Liverpool), a 27-year-old man from Liverpool city centre has been arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage.”
Jeremy – whose rumoured upcoming appearance on Ex On The Beach now appears to be in jeopardy – was later released but police say the investigation is ongoing.
A source says: “Steph really wanted things to work with Jeremy – to have an amicable friendship if nothing else. The fact it’s turned sour so quickly is heartbreaking for her, there’s been a lot of crying. Her family are with her all the time and Caben has been a good distraction. She felt she had no choice but to go to the police. She’s relieved it’s being taken seriously.”
The claims come just days after Steph unfollowed her ex on Twitter and shared a Snapchat picture of her heavily bruised legs, although she later deleted the image. Following the initial reports of an assault, Jeremy’s representative released a statement saying: “Jeremy denies any wrongdoing.” When approached by Closer, both Jeremy and Steph’s reps declined to comment.
ALL-TIME LOW
Now insiders say relations between the pair – who dated for four months before splitting last April – have hit an all-time low.
A source says: “Steph thought they were getting things back on track; there was even talk of them getting back together and being a proper family – but it didn’t take long for old issues to resurface.
“They’re both very insecure, which caused big arguments. Jeremy told Steph he was dedicated to putting the past behind them, but she was worried he would return to his playboy ways. She is heartbroken things have broken down with Jeremy. Their relationship is so explosive and neither of them knows how to fix it.
“Steph really believed Jeremy was a changed man and now feels silly. To make matters worse, she’s upset this will be another thing Caben will be able to read about when he’s older.”
SOCIAL MEDIA WAR
The couple fell for each other on Celebrity Big Brother last January, but split amid accusations of cheating. Then, in May, Steph revealed she was pregnant.

Jeremy denied he was the father. But following the birth of son Caben last month, they spent time together, sparking speculation of a reconciliation.
Despite their turbulent past, Steph hinted earlier this month that she’d consider giving their relationship another go if they could iron out their problems.
As Closer previously reported, Steph’s family have been worried that conflict was inevitable between the pair. A source says: “Her family and friends watched as Steph and Jeremy nearly destroyed their lives while they were together, and now they’re worried history is repeating itself. Steph has told them she’s not the same girl she was when she was with Jeremy the first time around.
“She’s got a responsibility to Caben to do what’s right, and the last thing she wants is him getting caught in the crossfire. Steph is now reassessing how she and Jeremy can move forward from here.”
