‘Relentless criticism would push anyone to break down’

-

CLOSER’S psychologist emma Kenny says: “It’s difficult for any of us to deal with criticism, but celebrities often face relentless knocks from all angles – including extreme online trolling – that would push anyone to break down.

“It’s particularly difficult for female celebrities because

they get the brunt of the abuse, whether it’s criticising their ability, their body or their looks.

“It’s very hard to ignore but it’s worth trying to remember that no one can make you feel bad – it’s your choice to let such comments affect you. In situations like Vicky’s, where she was being criticised to the point it was pushing her to breaking point, perhaps it would be better to hand control of her social media to someone else to run on her behalf for a while.

“We all have our own insecurities, but we have to remember that the trolls who try to highlight these weak points are simply faceless idiots.”
