BIG DAY HAIR

-

Whether you’re getting married, being a bridesmaid or acting as the guest of honour, the boho look is big news, says celebrity hair stylist Lois Mant. She creates three styles on Lauren Goodger…

THE chic BRAID

LAUREN SAYS: “I love how effortless this looks. It’s also really fuss-free, which is exactly what you want for a big event.” Lois says: “The fishtail is a younger, trendier style.” Here’s how to work the look: l Pull hair into a side ponytail – divide it into two smaller, equal-sized halves. l Separate a half-inch section from the outside of the left piece, then pull it over the right. Next pull a piece from the outside of the right half and pull over to the left. repeat until you run out of hair, then secure with a band. l Gently loosen the plait for a relaxed finish.

EMBRACE THE WAVE

LAUREN SAYS: “Big waves are so wearable. I love how glam they look with the hair piece.” Lois says: “This style works on all hair lengths. use an embellished hair piece to help frame the face.” Here’s how to copy Lauren’s look: l rake a small amount of mousse through damp hair to add texture, then blow-dry. l Wrap large sections of hair around barrel tongs, twirling them away from your face. l use volumising powder to give extra boost and hold at the roots. l Finish with a spritz of hairspray.

PONY PERFECTION

LAUREN SAYS: “I’ve never worn my hair like this, but I love it! It’s such a feminine look.” Lois says: “A low ponytail adds class, especially with a simple dress – just remember to keep height at the crown.” To copy Lauren’s ponytail: l Backcomb the hair at the roots for volume, then brush over, so the hair appears smooth. Then gather at the nape of your neck. l use a clear elastic band to hold the pony. l For a sleek finish, section off a few strands of hair, then wrap around the band. Secure with a pin, making sure it’s concealed.
