Inside kieran’s 30th birthday bash: “When the cameras switched off so did Jordan”
Closer went undercover to report on the real dynamic between Jordan and her husband Kieran behind the scenes at his London party
It was the perfect opportunity for Jordan and her husband Kieran Hayler to dispel the persistent rumours of trouble in their marriage, but instead at his 30th birthday party last week the tension between the pair was impossible to ignore.
Insiders at the event in London’s Gilgamesh nightclub – filmed for Jordan’s upcoming reality show – say that far from being loved-up, the pair were frequently spotted on opposite sides of the room, only showing affection for the cameras and at the end of the night Kieran was seen searching for his wife.
Jordan – real name Katie Price – organised the surprise circusthemed party for Kieran, inviting celeb pals including Nikki Grahame and Nadia Essex.
VERBALLY ABUSIVE
In October, the mum-of-five – who flew out to the Maldives with Kieran last week, reportedly to enjoy their second honeymoon after renewing their vows in Sussex two years ago – announced she was taking time out from Loose Women to focus on her marriage. It hit the rocks two years ago when it was revealed Kieran had cheated on her with her two best pals. But just a month later she reportedly said on a night out that her marriage was over, although she later denied the claims. Then, in December, she drunkenly stripped and was verbally abusive at a company Christmas party.
Jordan then vowed on TV she was going to give up booze for a year admitting: “It doesn’t agree with me… I’m not going to drink for the whole year.”
But her sobriety vow came to an abrupt end at her husband’s 30th bash, where she was spotted downing Tequila shots and partying until 3.30am, with onlookers remarking on a big difference in her behaviour when the TV cameras stopped rolling.
Our source says: “Katie went to lots of trouble for the party and had organised everything, including the cocktails, one of which was called Katie’s Good Boy. When the cameras were on, she was by Kieran’s side, holding his hand. But when they stopped rolling, Katie and Kieran moved apart. Katie was wearing a wig after being left in agony from her hair extensions, which have given her bald patches. She seemed self-conscious and miserable as she had a cocktail.”
MISERABLE
The party was being filmed for her reality-tv show Katie Price: My Crazy Life, which will give an insight into her life with third husband Kieran and her children Harvey, 14, Junior, 11, Princess, nine, Jett, three, and Bunny, two. As Closer previously reported, she was determined to make her marriage work for the sake of the show, but the tension between the pair was visible at the bash.
A source says: “Katie presented Kieran with an Audi sports car with a personalised number plate, telling the crowd: ‘Aren’t I a good wife buying him this car?’ When Kieran didn’t respond, she said: ‘Where’s my kiss then, babe?’
“Then, off-camera, Katie told
a friend that the car was in her name anyway. She also told the cameras how Kieran had wanted a coupé but she preferred a convertible and got the final say.
“Rolling his eyes, Kieran said: ‘It’s your present really, isn’t it?’ Then they kissed after being told to by the film crew. And that was the only time they appeared to show affection to each other.”
Insiders say that throughout the evening, Kieran seemed happy chatting to his mum and friends while Jordan seemed to be looking daggers at him from afar. Our source says: “At about 11pm the party was moving on to club DSTRCKT. Kieran was looking for Katie, who’d marched on while he said his goodbyes.”
Jordan has goaded Kieran in public since his affairs in 2014, and recently admitted she spent a night with Simon Cowell in 2012. And onlookers say she made another dig about Kieran’s cheating at his party.
A source says: “Katie was filmed saying to Kieran: ‘For two weeks I changed the code on my phone. [You] thought I was having an affair when really I’ve been organising your 30th.’ Kieran didn’t reply, he just bit his tongue, smiled and focused on the cameras. It was really uncomfortable to watch.”
