Kerry’s tears as Molly moves out
Insiders reveal the Atomic Kitten singer’s heartbreak over daughter Molly’s plan to move to Dublin
Her ex-husband Brian Mcfadden dropped the bombshell last week that their 15-year-old daughter Molly would be moving to Ireland to live with her grandparents. Brian explained in an interview: “My eldest is going to school in Dublin in September, so she’s going to live with my mum and dad.”
But pals say the move has really unsettled Kerry – who also has Lilly-sue, 14, with Brian, Heidi, 10, and Max, eight, with ex Mark Croft and two-year-old Dylan Jorge with husband George Kay.
A source says: “Molly will be in Ireland for school and divide her holidays between Kerry and Brian. Kerry knows Molly is mature and can make her own decisions, but she sees her as her rock during tough times. Understandably there have been a few tears because she will miss seeing her every day.”
Kerry’s previously revealed to Closer her bond with her children, saying: “We are all really close. As the girls have got older, they confide in me. I know I’m doing a good job bringing up my children.”
Brian’s parents have been a big influence in Molly and Lilly-sue’s lives, and reportedly helped Brian fight for custody in 2009 during Kerry’s tumultuous marriage to Mark.
Kerry and George – who married in 2014 – have had their fair share of ups and downs, even splitting briefly in October 2015 after he was accused of assaulting her. He was cleared in July last year. Since reuniting seven months ago, sources say they’ve been determined to make their marriage work. A source reveals: “It’s been a tough time for Kerry and it’s a blow to have Molly fly the nest so soon.”
