Lauren: “I want a really traditional day”

From her dream dress, go-to beauty looks and first dance song, Essex’s Lauren Goodger reveals all on her nuptials

he’s been dating Joey S Morrison since December last year and on an exclusive Closer shoot, EX-TOWIE star Lauren Goodger reveals how she wants to tie the knot and has already started thinking about her dream wedding. “I can’t wait to get married! I want to keep the day really traditional with a church wedding and a beautiful reception, but I’d also love a celebration abroad on a beach with a live band – maybe I’ll do both.”

With Joey, 31, due to be released from a 17-year prison sentence next March, Lauren admits the pair talk about getting married all the time, saying: “I’ve met the love of my life – I’m so excited every day.

“When I’m with someone, I think I’m going to marry them eventually. Otherwise, why be with someone if you can’t see yourself marrying them?!”

When asked about her dream day, she starts with the dress. “People look at me and think I want a big meringue dress, but I really don’t like that look,” she says. “I want something traditional. I’d always go for ivory or white. I don’t understand people who wear a colour on their wedding day!

“I need something slim-fitting with simple embellishment and lace. I’d also like to cover my arms too. Then I’d get changed into a shorter dress for the evening so I can dance the night away.’

Speaking of dancing, the TV star wants to perform a surprise routine on the big day for her husband-to-be, saying: “It would be great to learn a routine with my bridesmaids – something really extravagant, like a Beyoncé song, where I rip off the skirt of my dress. What a way to start the party!’

Lauren, 30, reveals she’s keen to channel actress Jennifer Aniston’s pared-back look for her big day. “She always looks amazing. It may surprise people, but I love her classic style and make-up look.”

“I’d go for a natural look with a bronzy gold eye, nude lip, MAC Spice lip liner and Velvet Teddy lipstick are my favourites. I also want the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow highlighter. My fragrance would be Tom Ford’s White Patchouli.”

She also wants to make sure her bridesmaids feel as beautiful as possible, by saying: “I want my bridesmaids in ivory. It’s really important that they feel beautiful.”

A celebrity wedding look that gets the thumbs down from Lauren, however, is Kim Kardashian’s puffball Vera Wang number, which she wore for her nuptials to Kris Humphries in 2011.

And when asked which celebrity wedding she’d love to go to, Lauren admits: “Mariah Carey’s – imagine the bling! I’d be in my element!”
