Mark & Michelle’s plan to make their marriage work long distance
Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright set a strict schedule to make sure their relationship survives while they’re apart
He jetted back to LA last week for more work meetings as his wife prepared to leave for what’s expected to be several months filming in South Africa. And pals say Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright have drawn up a strict marriage schedule to ensure their relationship doesn’t suffer with the long-distance separation.
The couple – who are set to spend their second anniversary apart next month – were blighted by reports of marriage problems last year while Michelle filmed her first series of BBC One drama Our Girl.
And pals say they’re both determined not to let history repeat itself this time.
ROMANTIC BREAKS
A source says: “Mark and Michelle have planned out all their meetings for the next few months after sitting down with both their schedules.
“They’ve organised romantic trips away during Michelle’s filming breaks, including a stay at a spa hotel near Cape Town, a safari and a wine tasting trip.
“Mark’s scheduled in Facetime and Skype sessions so they can be together, even if it’s just over the phone.
KEEPING IT EXCITING
“There’s only an hour time difference and Mark’s schedule is fairly flexible apart from his radio show and weekly Dj-ing gig, so they can spend as much time in touch as possible.”
The former Coronation Street star, 29, excitedly took to Instagram to post a picture of her scripts ahead of filming for Our Girl after Mark, 30, confessed that their career pursuits in different continents “keeps things exciting.”
A source adds: “Michelle’s adamant that the new schedule will keep them on track and they’ve set strict rules to ensure they don’t go more than three weeks without seeing each other.
“They’ve learned from past mistakes and they’re both hell-bent on ensuring they keep their spark alive and make their marriage a priority.”
