Paddy: “Weirdest moment on set? Making love to Keith”

Tell us about The Keith And Paddy Picture Show… keith: We’re crunching classic movies into half an hour, basically using celebrities to recreate them. Paddy: They’re films of our age, like Rocky or Jaws. Hopefully, people will find it funny. You’ve got Ant and Dec playing ewoks in Star Wars – how did that come about? k: They did the pilot for us and we really wanted them back. We’re doing Return Of The Jedi! I actually nearly cried when I walked on to the set – I got all emotional! P: We’re just so glad they were up for doing this. All kinds of people like Ant and Dec and Phillip Schofield (who plays Yoda). They all said no problem straight away. You’ve got Michelle keegan as Princess leia as well… k: She’s absolutely amazing – she looks so good. She’s very glamorous, although I’m not allowed to reveal if she’s in the gold bikini, you’ll just have to wait and see! P: We discovered the good thing about Michelle is her on-set banter. Mainly food – she’ll talk about food all the time, and if you put anything in front of her, she eats it. I couldn’t believe how much that girl eats, I don’t know what she does with it! She loves her grub and I like that in a girl. Who does robbie Williams take on? P: He’s a Ghostbuster! Even someone as big as Robbie came on and spent the whole day on set with us, having a laugh with the whole team. There were no bodyguards or “I’m going to my dressing room” nonsense. He just got on with it and l think he loved every second. Was Anna Friel fun to have around? P: We thought it would be a massive coup to get her in – she’s had such an amazing career and does loads of big dramas. But we didn’t give her any lines at all, and she played along with that joke a lot. k: There’s lots of her in behind-the-scenes shots where she’s reading through her scripts, saying, “I’m Anna Friel, I’ve won BAFTAS, why don’t I have any lines in this?!” Are you two naughty in the show, like on Celebrity Juice? P: We’ve kept a close eye on that, but I think we’ve erred on the right side of caution where that’s concerned. k: I think people will be stunned by the detail we’ve gone to for this. We are having fun but it’s moviestandard fun! You have a go at the classic Dirty Dancing lift; did you have to hit the gym for that? k: I haven’t eaten any bread since September – I’m absolutely starving! Paddy had to get all ripped up for it, but he changes his body like Play-doh! P: It’s all gone back to normal now! Once I’d filmed all my topless scenes I thought, “stuff this” and I’ve been having two puddings every day ever since! Have there been any weird moments during filming? P: My most surreal moment was making love to Keith, both topless with our stomachs constantly slapping together. I just remember thinking, “This is not something you do every day…” k: We took our bromance to another level – but it was a pleasure.
