Ferne: “Speaking to Arthur broke my heart all over again”
After reports that pregnant Ferne Mccann has been talking to ex Arthur Collins in jail, pals say it’s stirred up her old feelings
After a very tough couple of months for pregnant Ferne Mccann, it’s been revealed she’s back in touch with her ex, Arthur Collins.
The former TOWIE star has reportedly spoken to Arthur while he is on remand awaiting trial for 14 counts of grievous bodily harm with intent and one of throwing corrosive fluid on a person, following an acid attack at a London nightclub.
Insiders say their relationship is over, but it’s thought they’ve been in touch to discuss their baby, due later this year.
Now sources tell Closer that talking to Arthur has reopened old wounds for Ferne.
STAYING STRONG
A source says: “Ferne wants to stay strong for her unborn baby, but it was very emotional speaking to Arthur. They spoke mainly about the baby, but it brought to the surface all the heartache she felt after he was arrested following the attack.”
Arthur – who is due to stand trial on 9 October, was arrested in April after going on the run following a dramatic showdown – which saw him Tasered by police as he tried to escape. Ferne, 26, temporarily left her presenting role on This Morning, but returned last week to a barrage of criticism after she forgot her lines, quickly apologised then turned to her cue cards. She later spoke out on Twitter and put the blunder down to “baby brain.”
A source says: “After a few weeks out of the spotlight, Ferne was desperate to get back to work – but her family and friends were worried that it was all too soon. Those who are closest to her are worried she hasn’t given herself enough time to come to terms with what’s happened.”
FRIENDLY SUPPORT
And signalling her return to showbiz last week, she shared a picture of her partying with pal Vicky Pattison and to promote hairextension brand Easilocks.
Now friends say Ferne is leaning on pal Vicky for support on how to handle negative press attention. Vicky was heavily trolled over her presenting skills on the I’m A Celeb! spinoff last year, and had anger
management therapy after a string of violent bust-ups hit the headlines.
A source says: “Ferne’s been spending a lot of time with Vicky as they live near each other, and their mums have become good friends too. Vicky’s trying to keep Ferne from dwelling on her break-up with Arthur. She’s had a rough time with her love life too, so she’s been telling Ferne to stay strong because things are going to get better.
“The girls are keen to do more work projects together and they want to go on a holiday in the sun and just relax. Ferne wants her friends and family around her more than ever at the moment.”
