Kim worries: “Can Kanye & I ever be happy again?”
Following their disastrous wedding anniversary celebrations, pals say Kim K fears her marriage could be beyond saving
The expression on T their faces said it all last week on a family trip to Disneyland as Kim Kardashian and Kanye West looked awkward and glum.
The following day, they were snapped looking even more miserable after celebrating their third wedding anniversary at Nobu restaurant in Malibu.
Pals say it was meant to be a happy reunion following their recent separation, during which rapper Kanye, 39, was holed up in Wyoming working on his next album. But sources say they’re both unhappy and their marriage is hanging by a thread.
A source says: “Kim had a glimmer of hope when Kanye returned to LA for their anniversary and thought that he was ready to work through their problems, but she soon realised he wasn’t in the right mindset to tackle their marriage issues.”
DIFFICULT WEEK
The source adds: “Kim put on a brave face at Disneyland for the sake of the kids, but she told pals they barely spoke during their anniversary lunch.
“Kanye was angry with Kim for booking Nobu, knowing they would be photographed together rather than booking a place away from the paparazzi.”
Despite tension between the pair, Kanye then attempted to cheer up Kim with a roomful of flowers, which she posted a photo of on Instagram, with the caption: “How cute that I get to come home and see these gorgeous floating flowers.”
But insiders say Kim was secretly wishing that she was at the Cannes Film Festival with sisters Kourtney and Kendall Jenner. A source says: “Kim was desperate to join them in Cannes, but said she had to put Kanye and her marriage first.”
BACKLASH
Insiders tell Closer that Kim, 36 – who shares North, three, and Saint, one, with Kanye – has told pals she fears that after Kanye’s breakdown in November, they may never get back on track. A source says: “The past few days with Kanye have made Kim face her worst fears. She feels like she can’t win and worries whether her and Kanye will ever be happy together again. Even though they both want their marriage to work, they can’t see a way out of this mess they’re in.”
To make matters worse, the reality star was slammed by fans after posting a picture with pop star Ariana Grande, 23, in tribute to the victims of the Manchester terror attack – a move that caused another spat with Kanye, who withdrew from social media earlier this month.
One user commented: “Why do you put this picture of you partying with Ariana Grande? So pathetic and sad!”
A source says: “Kanye has repeatedly warned Kim about scaling back her social media usage to avoid controversy. Kim insisted she was just trying to show her support for the victims, but it ended up causing more issues for them.”
