Pals fear: “Kate’s not in a happy place”

Amid reports Kate Moss lashed out at a Cannes party, friends reveal she’s heartbroken over her recent split

There was drama T for Kate Moss last week, when she was reportedly at the centre of a spat at the Cannes Film Festival.

There were claims she’d been drinking at the bash and, according to reports, someone started squaring up to Kate, 43, and “she didn’t like it one bit” – forcing singer pal Mary J Blige to step in to diffuse the situation.

Now friends of the supermodel have revealed it all stems from her not being in a happy place.

Kate’s latest boyfriend, Count Nikolai von Bismarck, 30, who she’s dated since 2015, is in the US reportedly detoxing, and pals say they’ve already split, leaving her single for the first time in over 16 years.

A source says: “Kate worries people think she’s past her best. She wouldn’t always react, but if someone goads her now she can’t help but snap back.”

Kate has had back-to-back partners since the early 2000s. Prior to Nikolai, Kate was with ex-husband, musician Jamie Hince, for eight years, Pete Doherty for two years, and before that she was with Jefferson Hack, the father of her 14-year-old daughter Lila Grace Moss Hack, from 2001 to 2004.

A source says: “Everything that’s happened with Nikolai has been harder on Kate than she expected.”

Pals say a big part of her frustration is what she believes is her waning status as new stars like Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid – who were also at Cannes – steal the spotlight.

A source says: “There’s a new generation of models who are all close friends. They’ve taken over Cannes this year. Kate’s watching from the sidelines and it’s hit her hard – she feels her heyday is over.”
