‘Mum’s too old to have another baby at 54 – she’s insane!’

she’s made no secret of her desire to have another child since giving birth to Flame three years ago, thanks to IVF treatment. But last week, tina malone shockingly revealed her plans to become a mum again at the age of 54, this time with the help of a surrogate.

the former Shameless star – who wed toyboy and personal trainer Paul Chase, 34, in 2010 – became a grandmother less than a year ago when her eldest daughter, Danielle, 35, gave birth to Dorothy. But despite facing criticism over her decision to have more children, tina admitted she’s desperate to expand her family so she can give Flame another sibling.

speaking about her decision, she said: “some will say i am selfish and irresponsible for having another child at 54. i am doing this for Flame and for my husband, not just myself. i am healthy, of sound mind, solvent – and a bloody brilliant mother.”

Back in 2014, while pregnant with Flame, the tv star developed life-threatening pre-eclampsia and revealed it was Paul who urged her to opt for surrogacy. the pair still have eight embryos frozen in Cyprus after tina underwent IVF treatment there in 2013. and the mum-of-two – who famously shed 12st and had eight major operations to remove excess skin after giving birth – admits she’s been begging Paul to have another child.
