Insiders say friends stepped in to save Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s marriage

They’ve been doing their utmost to crush rumours of marriage troubles over the past few months – with Kim Kardashian uploading gushing Instagram posts about her husband Kanye West and trying to put on a united front in public.
But as the couple jetted off to the Bahamas last week with their two children, North, three, and Saint, one, pals say Kim’s plans to smooth out their problems with a lavish pre-40th birthday holiday treat for the rapper backfired.
DISASTER TRIP
A source says: “There was a reason Kim failed to post any snaps of their trip – it was a disaster from start to finish.
“When they got on their private jet Kanye was in a foul mood, and Kim was fixed to her phone. They’d already been rowing about North’s fourth birthday party, which Kanye was fuming about as Kim had agreed to give filming crews access to it.
“After they arrived at the Baker’s Bay Golf and Ocean Club with Kanye’s pals, the divide between them became even wider and Kanye spent most of the time inside with his friend Don C, while Kim and the kids hung out by the pool with Don’s wife and children.
“Meal times were often fraught with tension, with the pair of them barely speaking. On the penultimate day Kim snapped and they had a row.
TURNING POINT
“Kim broke down sobbing as she accused Kanye of pushing her away and picking on her for everything she did.
“It seemed as if the builtup emotions of the past few months came to a head and Kanye accused her of turning everything into a drama.
“Kim told Kanye she was struggling to see a way for them to get back on track, but she’s committed to trying to make it work. She had hoped the break would be a turning point for them – instead she feels like it was the holiday from hell.”
The couple, who celebrated their third wedding anniversary last month, have repeatedly been blighted by rumours of marriage issues, with reports that Kim has consulted with a divorce lawyer since her Paris heist last October and Kanye’s mental breakdown the following month.
MARRIAGE FEARS
Closer has previously reported how despite desperate attempts to fix their marriage, Kim fears she may never get back her husband. And although she loves Kanye and is trying to make it work, she is already planning in case it does fall apart.
And insiders say the couple’s friends have started to intervene in a last-ditch bid to help them rekindle their marriage.
A source adds: “Kanye’s pal Don sat them both down on holiday and encouraged them to talk to each another while he tried to mediate.
“Having someone there to help ease the tension seemed to work, so they’ve decided to continue letting their friends mediate and help them. They hope this, alongside regular therapy sessions, will help them work through their issues.”
