‘I don’t know how I’ll cope during Arthur’s trial’

-

Pregnant Ferne P Mccann continued to put on a brave face last week, despite learning that her ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins will stand trial just weeks ahead of her due date.

The This Morning star kept her bump hidden as she headed to a work event hours after it was announced Arthur would appear in court on 9 October – around the time their baby is due.

Arthur has been accused of five counts of causing GBH with intent and 11 counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm following an acid attack at a London nightclub in April. He has pleaded not guilty.

Despite Ferne, 26, throwing herself back into work, friends are worried that the trial will cause her extra stress.

A source says: “Ferne is trying her best to be strong for the baby. She wants to concentrate on her career, not what’s happened with Arthur, but she’s worried about how she’ll cope as the trial date gets closer. It’s going to be tough, especially so close to her due date, and she fears it will overshadow her big moment.”

As Closer previously reported, Ferne went to stay with her mum following Arthur’s arrest in April, but she’s since moved into her new flat alone and has thrown herself back into work. But friends say she’s dreading the upcoming trial. A source says: “Ferne is trying to take things one day at a time as it’s the only way she can cope. She’s told herself to deal with his court case when she has to, but it’s almost impossible for her to put it to the back of her mind.”
