Courteney: ‘My fillers made my face look fake!’

-

Last week, former Friends star Courteney Cox revealed she’d turned her back on cosmetic procedures and had all the fillers removed from her face. The 53-year-old star, who previously admitted to having Botox, fillers and laser treatment to maintain her youthful looks, said that she felt she no longer looked like herself and is now planning on embracing her changing face.

She said: “I’ve had all my fillers dissolved and I feel better because I look like myself.

“I was trying to make [my face] not drop, but that made me look fake.

“You need movement in your face, especially if you have thin skin like I do. I’ve realised that fillers are not my friend.”

Top surgeon Mark Ho-asjoe says: “This procedure would have meant having an injection with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. This is usually for emergencies, such as if the filler was injected in the wrong place or the patient had an allergic reaction. It’s a simple treatment and tends to dissolve most of the filler. However, for patients who have had long-term fillers or fillers over a long period of time, there will probably be residual left, so Courteney may not be completely ‘natural.’

“The skin’s been put under pressure and will have stretched over the years – so Courteney’s won’t bounce back and look completely natural.”
