Insiders say new mum Cheryl really let her hair down at her lavish 34th birthday party

She hasn’t been seen in public since she had Bear in March – but despite her new low-key lifestyle, Cheryl’s boyfriend Liam Payne threw a lavish 34th birthday party for her at their Surrey home.

Joined by family, her Girls Aloud bandmates and her X Factor act Reggie and Bollie, Cheryl was treated to a garden party and sit-down al fresco dinner in the evening. Liam, 23, decorated the garden in their £5.1m mansion with streamers, birdcages and floral bouquets as part of a Wonderland theme.

And Cheryl even shared a shot of herself in cartoon bunny ears on Instagram with the caption: “Birthday bunny. Thank you so much for all my lovely birthday wishes. You make me feel so special.”

A source close to Cheryl –who last week also posted a pic of her and Liam on a date night – says: “Cheryl’s party was the first time many of her friends and family from up north had met Bear. He was wearing a monkey outfit to go with the forest theme, before Cheryl changed him into an adorable outfit she said she copied off Prince George.”

ALL-NIGHT PARTYING

The pal adds: “Liam went to town and people joked it was like a ‘mini wedding’ as they had various food stations including sushi chefs, a taco bar, burgers and cocktails – including a ‘Beartini,’ which was the nonalcoholic drink of the night.

“Cheryl looked stunning in a long floaty dress, which fitted in perfectly with the theme. Their garden was covered with thousands of candles and fairy lights hanging from trees and they had a jazz band playing too. They even had huge swings attached to the trees and hammocks everywhere.

“After the band left, everyone wanted to continue the party, so they had one of their DJ pals hook up his decks and they all had a good dance. Cheryl really let her hair down for the first time since Bear was born.”

Taking to Snapchat, Cheryl’s BFF Nicola Roberts shared the fact that they all cuddled up and watched Love Island together afterwards on a big screen.

A source says: “Cheryl said it was the perfect night and she felt as if she was back to her old self. It made her realise how many people love her and how she doesn’t need to worry about stepping out into the real world.”
